PROTX
Protx provide secure online credit card and debit card payment solutions for thousands of online and mail order businesses across the UK. They have grown to become the largest independent Payment Service Provider in the country because their solutions offer customers exceptional value for money without compromising on the level of service and functionality they provide.

Prices:
Small Buiness Service - £20 per month
For customers who process less than 1,000 transactions per quarter, the Small Business Service offers the simplest and most affordable pricing package in the UK.

Small Business Service users are charged £20 fixed fee per month with no additional charges whatsoever. You are not charged transaction fees, irrespective of the value of the transaction or the number you do.

If your site does more than 1,000 transactions per quarter you will be moved across to the Corporate Payment Service in the following quarter. There will be no retrospective charges if your account is migrated.

Corporate Payment Service - 10p per transaction
All customers who process 1,000 transactions or more per quarter are automatically included in the Corporate Payment Service scheme.

Corporate customers pay 10p per transaction with no additional charges.

The minimum transaction level for corporate users is 200 transactions per month, so if your volume falls below that, you will still be charged £20. If your volume remains below 1,000 per quarter, you will be automatically moved over to the Small Business Service in the following quarter.

VSP Terminal Only Service
Customers who require VSP Terminal only for mail order and telephone order transactions and process less than 300 transactions per quarter can benefit from a special low cost option.

VSP Terminal Only customers will be charged a flat rate of £10 per month with no additional charges. You are not charged transaction fees, irrespective of the value of the transaction or the number you do.

If your site does more than 300 transactions per quarter you will be moved across to the Small Business or Corporate Payment Service as above in the following quarter. There will be no retrospective charges if your account is migrated.

Obtaining a Merchant ID to allow your business to accept credit cards has always involved lengthy bureaucratic procedures, with submission of at least two years trading accounts.

Web-Merchant cuts through the red tape and allows potential merchants to obtain a Merchant Account quickly and easily. Over 95% of applications are accepted and it doesn't matter even if you are a sole trader or have been in business for only a week.

On receipt of initial application form you will be notified of decision within 48 hours.

If you already have a Merchant ID with your acquiring bank, no problem. Web-Merchant is the link you require to connect your eCommerce site with the Credit Card Network.

• Once only set-up charge £200.00 (plus VAT)
• Monthly charge £30.00 (plus VAT)
• Optional PC Payment Terminal available for one-off £100 (plus VAT) [see below]
• Transaction fee 4.5% (An existing Merchant ID fee is determined by Worldpay on a case by case basis + Bank's charges)
• Debit cards (Switch, Delta) charged at 50p only per transaction

PC Payment Terminal

Once your account has been set up you will be able to accept credit card payments on your web site, with the transactions being verified automatically, in real time.

With Web-Merchant this facility can then be extended for you to use in your conventional business.

A one-off payment will provide you with the Web-Merchant Payment Terminal facility which allows you to verify credit card transactions on your PC.

You will be able to input information on a simple screen on your computer, enabling you to accept card details by phone, fax or mail-order. By simply connecting to the Internet you will link to your Web-Merchant facility and the transaction will be verified for you instantly. If you have a number of transactions to check, simply stay on-line and submit them one at a time.

Technology

At the heart of Web-Merchant is the WorldPay Payment Gateway. This provides the link between your web site and the International Credit Card Networks which include major operators such as Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express and Switch.

Web-Merchant integrates seamlessly with most of the leading eCommerce shopping cart software applications including Actinic, Intershop, Microsoft, Oracle, Shopcreator, Shop@ssistant, ShopMaster, etc.

All transactions routed via the WorldPay Payment Gateway generate digital receipts for both cardholder and the merchant. In addition, both parties are able to view an online statement of all transactions processed on their behalf.

Flexibility & Control

Web-Merchant allows for payments to be taken periodically by credit or debit card. This is ideal for allowing the customer to pay by installments or by subscription. Payments may be fixed or variable providing the same flexibility as standing orders or direct debits.

Web-Merchant allows payments to be deferred for up to five days, thus fulfilling local legislation when exporting to USA and Germany.

In the event of a refund being necessary, a transaction may be reversed by the Merchant and the customer's account credited electronically.

If you already have a Merchant ID for Card Holder Not Present transactions, Web-Merchant will link that facility to your web site and the charge is only 1.9% on top of what you pay already.

Payments are made to the Merchant by WorldPay every week, 28 days in arrears.

Multi-Currency

Because Web-Merchant enables your business to accept more than 160 currencies, your web site can display prices which overseas customers recognise and understand, and at the same time they will avoid the traditional currency conversion charges from their credit card operator. When it comes to the Merchant getting paid he can choose to receive his funds in over 20 currencies.
